Connecting at my own pace

You don't have to rush trust or closeness.

You can move toward people at your own pace, or keep your distance. Closeness isn't something you owe anyone.

What is it?

Connection can be with friends, family, or a partner. Some people may respect your boundaries, and trust with them may grow gradually.

How can it happen?

Repeated respectful experiences may help you sense when, and how much, closeness feels right. Your boundaries matter even if you need more distance for now.

Supportive words

Closeness isn't something I owe anyone.

I deserve to have my boundaries respected in every relationship.

What it does not mean

No one has to trust people, start a relationship, or let someone close by a set date.

What it might feel like

“I want my ‘no’ and my uncertainty to be respected.”
